Anti-Müllerian hormone. A blood marker of ovarian reserve, used with antral follicle count to plan stimulation dose. Recorded in the baseline workup of the IVF cycle record.
02Blastocyst
A day-5 or day-6 embryo with a fluid cavity and two distinct cell layers. Graded before transfer or freezing in the embryology lab module.
03ICSI
Intracytoplasmic sperm injection. One sperm is injected into one egg, the standard fertilisation method for male-factor cases. Logged as the fertilisation method on the lab sheet.
04Egg retrieval (OPU)
Oocyte pick-up. The theatre procedure that retrieves eggs about 36 hours after the trigger injection. Scheduled and documented in the IVF cycle calendar.
05Vitrification
Ultra-rapid freezing of eggs or embryos in liquid nitrogen so ice crystals never form. Tracked per straw in the cryo inventory software.
06Beta hCG (pregnancy test)
The pregnancy blood test, usually 12 to 14 days after transfer. ConceiveX IVF software logs the value and schedules the repeat test.
07PGT-A
Pre-implantation genetic testing for aneuploidy. A few cells are biopsied from a blastocyst and screened before transfer. Results attach to the embryo record in the lab module.
08Witnessing
A second person, or an electronic system, confirming patient identity at every hand-off of gametes or embryos in the lab. Electronic witnessing in IVF lab software records who confirmed what, and when.
